I, for one, really like the format of the board here. Does anyone know how to make a board like this?

The software used for this message board system is called phpBB and is available free of charge. There are quite a few message boards that use this software, including TwilightLexicon.com.

In order to use it, you need a web hosting service of some kind. A personal web host is pretty inexpensive these days. We use Hostmonster.com, which is only $6.99 a month. However, they ask you to pay for your entire term up front. So if you plan on having it for a year, you need to pay for that full year up front. The price includes a domain name as well.

You can also look at GoDaddy.com and 1and1.com, both of which I had experience with. I don't recommend GoDaddy, though.

Whomever you choose, you'll need to make sure they include MySQL for your database and PHP processing for the software.
